About ECOREPORTER
I’m an ecologist volunteer for over four years now, with the local NGO Sighisoara Durabila / Nachhaltiges Schaessburg / Sustainable Sighisoara of my hometown Sighisoara/Schaessburg in Romania (Transylvania).
Before that I lived for 12 years and studied (political sciences) in Germany (Muenchen) and worked for independent documentary film companies. My hobbies: foreign languages (I have a real “collection” of them :-); horseriding, yoga, mountainbiking, traveling.
No, filming & editing is NOT my hobby - it’s (again) my profession!
After returning to Romania in the summer of 2005 I got involved in local development projects (mainly sustainable urban development, heritage preservation, cultural tourism) and monitoring of the public authorities and the spending of public money, including European funds.
In April 2009 I eventually got the chance to use my former documentary/videoing experience by starting the media project called ECOREPORTER - which consists of making small videoreports about environmental issues in Romania and neighbouring countries, from an NGO perspective. The short films (meanwhile over 200) are all on my project blog or on youtube.
Since many environmental issues on the national level are linked to European policies and norms, I (re)start (video)blogging on the blogactiv platform, with the (idealistic, naive?) hope to provide EU based personnel (NGOs, politicians, lobbyists, …) and other decision makers with fresh, firsthand information from the “Far East” of our continent, concerning environmental and green NGO issues.
This could become an easy to use feedback tool for EU and Romanian policies…
Don’t know what the result will be - I’ll just …film and see!
If you like what you’ll see here, please feel free to give feedback and/or to forward the links to these films to potentially interested viewers - i.e. of the Romanian / CEE community in Brussels and/or personnel on the national level(s).
See U around here, I hope!
